The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) confirms that the DepEd has already presented the creation of 4 new teaching positions which are Teacher IV, V, VI, and VII. This is primarily to close the gap between the salary grade levels from Teacher III to Master Teacher I which has been approved by the Senate and the President himself quite recently.
Spokesperson Salvador Panelo confirms that the approval of the President was done during te 43rd cabinet meeting at Malacañan Palace in Manila on October 6, 2019.
“Moving forward, quality basic education is imperative. Thus, the President approved DepEd’s recommendation” the Palace official said in the statement.
However, in the dialogue between a group of public school teachers and DBM officials, it is clarified that it is not yet included in the planned budget in 2020. The DBM sees to fund, realize and implement it in the year 2021.
