As of June 1, 2019, most public school teachers have not yet received their chalk allowances. The weird part though was that some newly hired teachers from 2 years back have confirmed that they already have received the said allowance amounting to Php3,500.00 which is the same from the previous school year.
It seems that the department is having some trouble releasing these allowances and salary differentials for quite some time now. This is probably the first time teachers have experienced the delay on the release of this allowance, especially that 2 days from now will be the official opening of classes for SY 2018-2019.
Teachers can still wait up until next week for its release, but the delay beyond that period is a different story. They should have anticipated the scenario of the opening of classes which will greatly require the assistance of the said allowance.
