Amidst the issue of DepEd on the unexplained expenditures found by Commission on Audit (COA) which amounted to billions of pesos, the Teachers' Dignity Coalition (TDC) led by their Chairperson Benjo Basas has once again insisted the salary increase for all public school teachers.
“If we give the money for the welfare of our teachers, surely it will go to its intended use with a ‘return of investment’ in several folds,” Basas added.
Basas also stressed that most of the public teachers are spending their own hard-earned salary just to provide the necessary instructional materials for their classes. Many of them even bought extra devices like TVs, laptops, printers, speakers, lapels, and so on just to give the students the quality of instruction.
“Teachers have to bear the expenses for these necessities,” he added.
