Amidst the near approval of the Salary Standardization Law V, this group of public school teachers continues to show the government that they deserve a dignifying salary increase as repeatedly promised by the President himself.
In a post of Teachers Dignity Coalition (TDC) chairperson, Benjo Basaa, he explained the real value of the salary increase and how it would define the value of the work of a teacher. He also added that a P10,000 salary increase is what the teachers rightfully deserve.
"HINDI LANG TUNGKOL SA PERA ANG USAPIN NG SAHOD
Ang sahod ay presyo ng paggawa. Kung kapiraso lang ang sahod mo yan lang ang halaga mo. Ibig sabihin, maliit lang ang halaga ng mga Guro para sa gobyerno. Yan din ang dahilan kung bakit hindi mali na ikumpara ang sahod natin sa iba o ang trabaho natin sa iba. May prinsipyo kasi na "equal pay for equal amount of work." Lalo pa sa government service dahil iisa ang employer ng lahat ng empleyado sa lahat ng ahensiya, ang gobyerno.
Kapag ba nagreklamo tayo dahil naliliitan tayo sa ating sahod o umento ay wala na tayong kaligayahan o mukhang pera na tayo? Hindi at Hindi!
Ang sahod ay hindi pera lang
Ang sahod ay halaga ng ating trabaho. Ang sahod ang halaga natin. Yan ang relasyon ng sahod at dignidad.
