Sec. Leonor Briones announced some good news for teachers during her speech on the 2019 World Teachers' Day celebration in Limketkai Atrium, Cagayan De Oro City last week.
As the study on benchmarking of salaries of government personnel is nearly completed by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Sec. Briones pointed out that the new round of salary increase for all government employees will be announced by the office of the President anytime soon.
She also stressed that the P1,000 world teacher's day incentive bonus shall be released not earlier than October 5 as well as the provision for the cash allowance amounting to P3,500.

The secretary also asked the teachers to made use of all the available resources and innovations so that they can cope up with change and give the best to their learners.
“There are many exciting things waiting for you, many innovations, many new ways of looking at things, many sources of knowledge, please take advantage of what these innovations can give us,” said Briones.
