Salary Increase, Additional Incentives for Teachers pushed

House Bill 877 was filed by Navotas City Rep. John Rey Tiangco which aims to give importance to the public school teachers by increasing their monthly salary from P20,754 to P30,531 for entry-level positions and for non-teaching personnel from P11,068 to P19,233.
“Teachers play a significant role in honing the minds of our children, and in shaping their moral character and civic consciousness. It is only imperative that they be compensated adequately, fairly and competitively,” Rep. John Rey Tiangco said.
Cong. Tiangco also pushed to give them additional benefits and incentives like P10,000 annual medical allowance, P5,000 augmentation pay, and free tuition for graduate studies in all colleges and universities.
