“The President is working on that. And hopefully, that can be responded to. Our economic managers are doing everything to see how things can be done,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo stated this in a Palace briefing on Monday in regards to the promised salary increase to all public school teachers.
Malacañang has made an assurance that the President is already working to deliver his promise to the teachers and already instructed his economic managers to look for the source of fund. The president has a soft heart to the teachers since his mother was a teacher too.
“You must remember that the mother of the President (Soledad) was a teacher and so his heart is with the teachers,” said Panelo.
“I don’t know where they will get the funds, but they are looking for these sources. I think the economic managers have to answer that,” Panelo added.
Panelo said that he would also make an arrangement with the President to meet the representatives of teachers to talk about their concerns.
