Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed on Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte has declared August 12, 2019 a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Adha of our Muslim brothers and sisters.
Thus, the Department of Labor has announced that those who will render their services on the said date shall be paid double of their daily rate.
Eid'l Adha, also called the "Festival of the Sacrifice", one of the most important Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command.
