Numerous lawmakers and senators have already filed various bills intended to increase the monthly salary of our hardworking teachers.
Another senator, however, filed her own version of the bill which seeks to raise the entry-level salary of teachers from P20,754 to P28,000 and so on with the higher positions. If we think about it, compared to other bills which demand a huge chunk of the national budget for it to be realized, this one seems to be more practical and more doable.
Sen. Binay also filed another bill which aims to provide "educational assistance" to all public school teachers and exempt them from the income tax during elections.
