PROVIDING FOR AN ACROSS THE BOARD INCREASE OF TWELVE THOUSAND PESOS (PHP 12,000.00) TO THE BASIC SALARY OF ALL ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Public school teachers play a vital role in the development of the Country. They are the one responsible for teaching, developing and nurturing the full potential of the youth to become a better individual in the society. Most of Filipino parents cannot send their children to private schools because of poverty. Without public school teachers, our public education system will never run and will result to chronic illiteracy that will plague the young generation.
Despite the inadequate given, our beloved public teachers aside from teaching, are utilized by the State to facilitate the elections. They also act as a social worker in a evacuate center in case calamities strike. It is about time for the State to recognize the vital functions of our public-school teachers by increasing their salaries not only make their ends meet but also give them a motivation to their valuable effort for the development of our society.
This bill seeks to alleviate the living conditions of our public school teachers by giving them an increase in their salary.
In consideration of the foregoing premises, the passage of the bill is urgently sought.
