President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a letter addressed to Sen. President Vicente Sotto III which seeks for the immediate enactment of Senate Bill 1219 entitled "An Act Modifying the Salary Schedule for Civilian Government Personnel and Authorizing the Grant of Additional Benefits, and for Other Purposes."
This certifies that the President sought for the bill to be implemented as soon as possible so that government workers shall receive and use their salary increase.

"To address the need to further invigorate public service with efficiency and productivity by providing all government civilian personnel a just and equitable compensation responsive to their economic needs," Duterte stated in the letter.
It will grant government employees from Salary Grade (SG) 10 to SG 15 the highest increase rate, ranging from 20% to 30% while those from SG 23 to 33 shall have the lowest increase rate of 8%.
