Experts Say A Messy Desk is a Sign of Genius

Back in the old days, a messy desk is oftentimes referred to a lazy and easy-go-lucky individual. While the neat desks always belong to those who are responsible, more intelligent, and productive ones. Today, this notion is already absurd.

Researchers from the University of Minnesota just had a study on how well the students can perform in a neat working area versus a messy one. And they found out that:

"Participants in the messy room generated the same number of ideas for new uses as their clean-room counterparts. But their ideas were rated as more interesting and creative when evaluated by impartial judges."

Efficiency experts also insist that those who have disorderly desks are more productive as they have less time cleaning their desks and more time on doing productive tasks.

Geniuses like Albert Einstein famously pointed out that "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?"

So if your desk is a mess, it's about time to stop worrying as it clearly suggests that you may be productive and genius in some ways. But in case you're not, then we suggest you start cleaning your desk and think about how you can become productive.
