NEWSTART-CC Program: Air

By Dr. Delfin R. Hernandez Jr.

Air- The body’s most important resource is air. More important than food or water, proper breathing and pure air are fundamental to good health. Fresh, clear, air filled with negative ions are essential to the preservation of health and happiness. Plants, trees, and sea are natural sources of oxygen gas- an important component of air.

📷Our atmospheric air consists of 78% nitrogen gas, 21% oxygen gas and 1% other gases, fumes and dissolved molecules. In the air, oxygen gas plays an important role in maintaining life of human beings. Here are the prescribed health practices regarding air:

1. Parents regularly practice deep breathing in the nature filled environment. 2. They open windows of their house to allow the entrance of oxygen gas inside the house. 3. They plant trees, flowers, and orchards to increase the source of oxygen gas in their environment. 4. They go to nature (beaches, forests, mountains, waterfalls, etc.) from time to time through excursion, field trip, nature trip, family gathering to inhale fresh air and enjoy the beauty of nature. 5. 📷They exercise daily to ensure that they inhale fresh air deeply. 6. They spend half of their time in outdoor life in a place where fresh air can be obtained. 7. They do gardening and enjoy the beauty of plants, flowers, orchards, vegetables, etc. Ellen G. White says: “And so far as possible, all who are seeking to recover health should place themselves amid country surroundings where they can have the benefit of outdoor life. Nature is God's physician. The pure air, the glad sunshine, the flowers and trees, the orchards and vineyards, and outdoor exercise amid these surroundings, are health-giving, life-giving.”-Ministry of Healing p. 263 📷Pure air is good to our blood. Ellen G. White further says in her book Ministry of Healing page 272: “In order to have good health, we must have good blood; for the blood is the current of life. It repairs waste and nourishes the body. When supplied with the proper food elements and when cleansed and vitalized by contact with pure air, it carries life and vigor to every part of the system. The more perfect the circulation, the better will this work be accomplished.”
