Duterte to gov't officials: You're not special

President Duterte made a bold statement to all government officials to not act like special ones because they are just simply working for the people.

“That’s why don’t treat us special. We are just like anybody else. We are just ordinary people. We are just workers,” in his speech at the birthday celebration of Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles.

“For example, I told my Cabinet that they should not use special plates [for their vehicles]. No number 1, no number 6,” he added.

He continued by stressing that government officials should live and act like everybody else so they would understand and serve them better.
