Republic Act 11314 or the "Student Fare Discount Act" has finally signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last April 17, 2019, and released through Media this Monday.
“This is a year-round benefit that students can avail so they can have discounted fares whenever they want to go home to their families, even during holidays,” bill co-authored Sen. Angara said.
This law gives all the students a fare discount of 20% on ALL FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION, be it on land, rail, air, and water. To be specific, this law covers the said discount on a jeepney, bus, tricycle, taxi, UV express, TNVS, MRT, LRT, PNR, and any form of transpo on air and water.
This will be truly beneficial not only to the students but also to the parents as they can save that money for other important needs of their children in school or at home.
