DepEd's MA degree for teachers with studies in China

The Department of Education has signed a Memorandum of Agreement for a joint training of Filipino teachers in Chinese language teaching.

This agreement is between DepEd and the  Confucius Institute Headquarters to give opportunities for Filipino teachers in attaining their Master of Arts degrees major in Chinese language teaching.

300 Filipino teachers will be under this program in the next 5 years and will be implemented by the Angeles University Foundation of the Philippines and Fujian Normal University of China.

This is a two-year master’s degree program, which includes six-month studies in China.

DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, in her message at the MOA signing, said “proficiency in language is one of the indicators of a quality education.” She added that this program is “also in support with the efforts of the department in uplifting the quality of education in the Philippines.”
