Wendel Avisado, DBM Acting Secretary, said on Tuesday that government employees would have a new round of salary increase in 2020.
Avisado confirmed that the budget for the next round of Salary Standardization Law (SSL) is already included in the budget proposal submitted to the Congress. The proposed national budget is amounting to P4.1 trillion.

On the other hand, the increase in salary for the succeeding years to come will depend on the availability of more funds and resources.
P31 billion is allocated for the next year's salary increase for gov't employees according to Avisado.
In view of this, it is hoped that it will be enacted in the most favorable time frame so that our fellow civilian workers would enjoy this increase that will suffice their economic needs and give a bit of comfort that they rightfully deserve.
