BRIGADA ESKWELA ’19 UNITY TILL INFINITY

By Maricel Untalan.

Kapt. Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School (KERIS) conducted this year’s Brigada Eskwela, May 20 – 25, 2019, with the theme “Matatag na Bayan Para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”, where all stakeholders contributed their time, effort and resources in ensuring that the school facilities are ready in time for the school opening.

During its Brigada Eskwela Plus, KERIS was honored with no less than the presence and participation of City Mayor Ma. Laarni “Lani” L. Cayetano, the Aboitiz Foundation President and volunteers, and the Mormon volunteers.

As early as March of this year, Dr. Delfin R. Hernandez, Jr., School Principal and Chairman of Brigada Eskwela, Dr. Raymundo P. Rivamonte, Administrative Consultant for School's Network and Linkages, with our School Brigada Eskwela Coordinators Mrs. Wilma L. Gamoza, for elementary, and Mr. Junlie M. Luna, for junior high school, coordinated with and recruited volunteers who would participate in the brigada.

Early in the morning of May 20, the teachers, students, GPTA officers, barangay officials, 4Ps beneficiaries, other stakeholders and volunteers, held a kick-off parade that signaled the start of Brigada Eskwela. It was followed by a short program where the School Principal acknowledged the presence of different groups of volunteers, donors and visitors of the school. Short orientation of mechanics of the 6-day activity were given by BE coordinators.

Through the overwhelming support of our Incumbent City Mayor "Ate Lani" Cayetano, volunteers and donors in the 6-day Brigada Eskwela activity, and the BE Working Committees, the whole school transformed into a ready, conducive place for school opening this coming June 3, 2019.
