The across-the-board salary increase should be applicable to all government workers and not only limited to public school teachers. This is the call of various congressmen from the administration and opposition sides.
Centris Democatric Party, Cagayon de Oro City Representative, Rufus Rodriquez surely made his point when he said, “I would prefer salary increases for all government workers. However, if the government does not have enough money, we can start adjusting pay for teachers and nurses."

Bayan Muna Rep. Ferdinand Gaite shares the same sentiment when he reminded the government of the possible conflict if the salary increase (across-the-board) will only be applied to teachers and nurses.

Given the financial status of our government, Rep. Rodriguez's suggestion of starting the said increase to the teachers and nurses is practical and realistic.
