The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) recently came up with the result of their study which shows that there are more boys dropping out of school or obtaining failing grades compared to girls in this basic education in their research paper entitled “Boys Are Still Left Behind in Basic Education”.
They also found out that there is a significant number of boys aged 12-15 who haven't reached the higher level of education compared to girls.
With these results, the Department of Education is therefore urged to come up with useful interventions that would lessen the figures of drop-outs and failed students.
